One of the hardest parts of being the magnificent and messy trailblazers of this unique, extended, redefined midlife, is the unfairness that still exists. We were told we could have it all, and for many of is, it just feels we’re doing it all. We have amazing possibilities and opportunities, and there is still significant inequality in terms of household workload. Added to that, we were usually brought up to be the Good Girl - please everyone, don’t put your needs first and take responsibility for everyone’s happiness - and we can struggle to stay true to our own priorities for ourselves. Unfairness in relationships and families can cause deep seated resentment, but I often see women being unfair to themselves too. We take on more than we should and react to what’s expected rather than respond to how we actually feel and want.
So as we forge through our Midlife, redefined Daily Journal Guide adventure we are coming to the end of our second round of Action & Living in Intention, helping you respond to your life, rather than always reacting to it.
